Cheer Leaders and Fast cars...Oh My!

Still looking for my "mojo"...have you seen her? For shame... OK, here we go. Wish me luck!

WEEKEND PART 1
We had a crazy kid weekend. Friday the girls where cheer leading at half time of a high school boys basketball game. The High school does it every year as a fund raiser. The girls stay late after school and practice cheers with some real live, in the flesh cheer leaders. Then the next night we all trek to the game and have a half time show led by them. Very fun and so cute to see the girls get so excited to be in the presence of such greatness. You would think they were hanging out with Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez or someone like that. I heard the girls telling each other why their cheer leader is the best on the whole planet. Megan's cheer leader has recently attempted a back flip and messed up her neck so she kind of walked around like a robot but Megan thought she was the coolest girl in the world...and a back flip, I can only dream of that. If I tried that I would likely be in a body cast so maybe she is pretty awesome. The basketball portion of the night was pretty pathetic but cheering made up for it.

Megan in the center doing her thing...sorry for the spooky eyes. The operator of the camera was sleeping at the wheel. I can say that cause it was me!

Elise (pink socks, black shoes) doing a sit down wrestling cheer. She really loved this!
Cheering is up her alley.

One last song before this happened...

Off they go!
Mostly girls...I did see one little boy though.

Getting big, huh?

A little school spirit. Doesn't every Mom just love temporary
tattoos?

This may have been the best part of the night...mingling with
greatness. Having the cheer leaders sign your shirt. Sigh...is there
anything better?

I think not!

WEEKEND PART 2
Sunday we had our yearly Pinewood Derby for Cub scouts. That is an event that we both love and hate. The boys for the most part have a great time. The funnest part is once your car is eliminated from competition they have a second smaller track to "play" on. Race your car all you want and have little races with all your friends. That is when Trevor has the most fun. The first heat consists of 43 races then they eliminate all but 16 cars. That is when the competitive Dad's and kids start to get a little boost of adrenalin. Then when they drop to 8 cars, there are a few tears...then they eliminate 4 more...definite tears now. The final four have to be ranked from 1st to 4th place. Happy Dads and smiling boys. Life is Good! Trevor was a sport and did not mind when he got cut. He had fun building his car and was more involved this year then last. The Fourth place boy this year is in 2nd grade and his car looked like something you would buy...boy he must be a talented kid to come up with such a cool design that actually looked like a real Ferrari. Hmmm...now that I think about it maybe his very involved Dad had something to do with that?!

Bad picture but will share anyhow. Trevors is silver with
yellow stripe. The 00 car next to his took 2nd place.

Flag ceremony before the big race

On your marks, get set, GO!

Thru some sort of computer error it said that Trevors car
went down the track at 9,598 mph! WOWEEE, took a picture
just for the heck of it. He really placed 5th but it was fun to dream.
For a brief moment he held the track record!

A boy and his car...it is a beautiful thing.

This is what one sister did to pass the 5 hours we
were at the meeting.

This is what another sister did, making funny faces always
helps pass the minutes!
